The UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) Aadhar Card is a unique 12-digit identity which acts as both an address and citizenship proof for the Indian people. Aadhar Card can be availed irrespective of age by all the Indian citizens. It has now become mandatory for all the people to enroll for an Aadhar Card owing to the various benefits associated with it. The Aadhar card registration is done at an Aadhar Card Enrollment Center. Aadhar Card Registration: How to apply for Aadhar Card

The steps for Aadhar Card registration are stated below.

  • Fill the Aadhar Card Enrollment Form. The form is available either at an Aadhar Card enrollment center or can be downloaded online from https://uidai.gov.in/images/aadhaar_enrolment_correction_form_version_2.1.pdf.
  • If you wish to download the form online, kindly take a printout of the form and fill your details.
  • If you wish to avail an enrollment form at an Aadhar Card center, go to the Aadhar Card Enrollment Center nearest to you. (Link for How to Find Aadhar Card Centers) and ask for an enrollment form.
  • Upon downloading and filling the details in the form, find the Aadhar Card Enrollment Center nearest to you (if you filled it online).
  • Please note that you need to carry a list of documents for verification purposes before you visit an Aadhar Card Enrollment Center. The list of documents needed for Aadhar Card verification are stated below.
  • Once you reach the center, submit the enrollment form and the supporting documents to Aadhar Card contact person.
  • Upon submission and approval of the documents, you need to submit your biometric data which include your 10 fingerprints. In addition, you also need to provide a retinal scan (scan of eyes). The scan is taken through a machine present at the center.
  • Also, the contact person will take your photograph for record and database purposes.
  • Once your process is complete, the contact person will provide you with an acknowledgment slip which will contain a 14-digit Enrollment ID (EID) and time stamp.
  • Please put this slip on yourself, as you can use it to download your Aadhar Card Online.

Documents needed for Aadhar Card Registration:

  • Documents required for Aadhar Card can be classified into four categories which are stated below.
  • A person’s proof of identity
  • Proof of Date of Birth (DOB)
  • A proof of Name and address
  • Supported proof of relationship

Aadhar Documents Required for Proof of Identity

Aadhar Documents Required For Proof of Date of Birth

These documents are generally used for confirming your Date of Birth. So, it is essential for them to contain details of your DOB. The list of documents required for Aadhar card for proof of date of birth (DOB) include:

  • Birth Certificates such as those issued by government hospitals or a Gazetted officer
  • Passport
  • PAN Card or Permanent Account Number
  • SSLC Book or certificate
  • Marks sheet, for example, issued by a Government University or Board
  • A Pension Payment Order (PPO) such as those issued by the Central or State Government
  • Government or PSU issued ID Card
  • Health Service Scheme Photo Card

Aadhar Documents Required for Proof of Name and Address

You will receive the original Aadhar Card to the address given as proof of address submitted for the Aadhar card. In conclusion, the document presented for proof of address must contain the name and the address of the applicant. Thus, the list of documents required for Aadhaar card proof of address include:

  • Bank Passbook or for example, a bank statement

These documents contain an individual’s relationship with the head of the family, such as father, mother, son, daughter, etc. Hence, the list of supporting documents required for Aadhar card proof of relationship is as follows:
