Aadhar Card since its inception in 2009, has gone on to become one of the most prominent national identity cards in India. The Aadhar Card has become an essential “must have” identity for every Indian with various benefits linked to it. Aadhar Cards are usually enrolled or updated at dedicated Aadhar Card Centers.

Also, the Government of India to increase its prominence has mandated theAadhar Card linking with bank accounts and mobile number. Though Aadhar Cards have now reached considerable penetration compared to its nascent stages, people still find some enrollment issues caused due to technical snags, and an inaccurate display of data. The citizens of India need to address this issue and update their details to avail the full benefits of Aadhar Card.

To tackle this issue, the Government of India is incorporating multiple new Aadhar Card Centers regularly in every district to maintain a smooth flow for people enrolling or updating their Aadhar Cards. This article is aimed at people who are trying to understand the enrollment procedure, and offices to enroll or update their Aadhar card.

Ways to locate the Aadhar Enrollment Center near by

The UIDAI has multiple offices in a district for the purpose of enrolling or updating your Aadhar Card. The list of offices has now been updated to include banks and post offices as well.

Step 1: Let us first start by checking the Aadhar Card Centers in your district and then, let us determine the center closest to you.

Step 1: Click on either one of the websites for enrolling or updating your Aadhar Card
UIDAI website (https://appointments.uidai.gov.in/), Banks and Post Offices – This website will help you find Banks/Post offices where you can enroll or update your Aadhar Card. You must click on this link if you wish to enroll yourself at either banks or post offices.

UIDAI Website Regular Enrollment Centers (https://appointments.uidai.gov.in/centersearch.aspx) – This website will help you find regular Aadhar Card Enrollment Centers.

You can choose either one of the centers found in the above link depending on which one is closest to you. Fintown advises you to check both the links and then determine the nearest Aadhar Center to you. As mentioned on the website, you can search for an Aadhar enrollment Center depending on your state, Pin Code or Search Box.

Finding the nearest Aadhar Card Center through PinCode:

If you wish to use PinCode to search for nearest Aadhar Center, click on PinCode option amongst the three options.

Step 2.1: You will find a column asking you to specify your area pincode. Type in your pincode and enter the verification code. After completing the first two steps, click on the search button.

Result: Once you enter all your details, you will find the list of all the Aadhar Enrollment Centers around you along with center address and names of contact persons. Pick one, and you can be on your way to either enroll or update your Aadhar Card.

Finding the nearest Aadhar Card Enrollment Center by State:

If you wish to search for centers by state, the procedure is as follows.

Step 3.1:  Once you select the state option, you will find the website aking you to fill few details.
You will need to fill

  • The state you are currently residing in.(This option is mandatory)
  • Additionally, the district you are residing in.
  • In addition, the sub-district you are residing in
  • Also, the Village Town City you are residing in
    Filling the last three details is not mandatory, but filling these will make it easy for you to find the center nearest to you.

Step 3.2: Once you fill all the details and type in the verification code, click on search.

Result: You can now find the addresses of all the agency/banks/post offices names near you, along with the name of contact person.  Pick one, and you can be on your way to either enroll or update your Aadhar Card.

Finding the nearest Aadhar Card Center using Search Box:

Search Box is the best option for you if you are unsure of your pin code or other details like district, sub-district or Village Town City. You can find the nearest Aadhar Enrollment Center to you fairly simply with the help of the search box option.

Step 4.1: Click on the search bar option.

Step 4.2: Type in the area you are residing in. Mentioning local street area will fetch you better results.

Step 4.3: Enter the verification code and click on search

Result: You can now find the addresses of all the agency/banks/post offices names near you, along with the name of contact person.  Pick one, and you can be on your way to either enroll or update your Aadhar Card.

We would like to go a step further and help you make sure you have all the required documents if you are applying for an Aadhar Card for the first time or need to update any details.

You can find the list of Aadhar Card Center’s near you using the procedure mentioned above. Once you have found your nearest center, you can book an appointment online for selected online centers. However, this is not compulsory. You have the benefit of walking into the center directly. Nonetheless, this might cause you some loss of time due to the queue already present in the center.

If you wish to enroll for a new Aadhar Card, you are required to fill up an enrollment form. This enrollment form is available online at the official website of UIDAI (“https://uidai.gov.in/images/aadhaar_enrolment_correction_form_version_2.1.pdf”) or can be availed at an Aadhar Card Enrollment Center. If you prefer downloading the form online, you need to fill the form and go to the nearest center with the following documents.

You need 1 proof of identity, 1 proof of physical address, 1 proof of supported relationship and 1 proof of date of birth for enrolling an Aadhar Card.
