A PAN card holder or applicant can see their PAN card status details by name and date of birth (DOB). It is essential that a person knows their PAN number for paying tax, reapplying for a new PAN card, receiving a salary, etc. Moreover, a PAN card is also a valid proof of identity and photo proof.
PAN Card Status By Name And DOB
To find PAN card number or PAN details by name and date of birth, an applicant must:
- Log on to the e-Filing Income-Tax Department website and click on the ‘Know Your PAN’ option.
- Entering details pertaining to the date of birth or the date of incorporation (Date/Month/Year).
- Entering personal details such as name (Surname/Middle name/First name).
- Mobile number.
- Enter the CAPTCHA at the end of the page and then click submit.
If the details are correct, then an applicant receives his PAN number, full name, jurisdiction and remarks(active/inactive/etc.) on the card.
PAN Card Status Without Acknowledgement Number
Suppose a person loses their acknowledgment number before getting their PAN card, or they lose their PAN number, then they must look for their PAN card status details by name and date of birth. This includes not being able to use NSDL status and UTI status for getting PAN details. If a person knows their PAN details, then they can use their PAN number and mobile number to get their PAN details online.
